MILWAUKEE- The Milwaukee Brewers have added their first major-league bat from the free agency period signing Avisail Garcia to a 2-year, 20-million dollar contract.

Radio.com MLB Insider Jon Heyman broke the news on Monday:

Garcia has only played in the outfield for the entirety of his professional career, and most recently player right field with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Garcia hit .282 with 20 homers and 72 RBI's in 125 games last season in Tampa. He can hit both for power and for average as he hit .330 in 2017 with the Chicago White Sox.

Heyman alsor reported that Garcia turned down a 3-year deal and accepted a 2-year so that this can be a prove it contract for the 28-year-old outfielder.

The Brewers now have a stacked outfield with Ryan Braun, Christian Yelich, Lorenzo Cain, Garcia, and recently re-acquired Keon Broxton (minor league contract).
