Counsell does not want to ban the shift

LAS VEGAS - MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has suggested the idea before to ban or limit the defensive shift. A recent report said he was getting support from around the game which led to people taking sides.

Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell made it clear that he thinks it is a really, really bad idea to ban the shift.

"I don’t see the sense in banning the shift at all. I don’t see how it improves the game. I think it’s a strategic part of the game that is one of the things that makes our game fun, is let’s find strategies to win baseball games," - Counsell said. Read more here.
