Could the Fresh Prince return to Milwaukee?

July 15, 2019 - 6:23 pm

It's no secret the Brewers bullpen hasn't been as good as it was last year, but the front office is looking to change that.

The Brewers have been heavily linked to lefty reliever and former Brewer Will Smith, who the Crew traded to the Giants three years ago for pitcher Phil Bickford and catcher Andrew Susac.

Smith was a Brewer from 2014-16, acquired from the Royals in the 2014 offseason for outfielder Nori Aoki. He appeared in 181 games for the Crew, posting a 3.28 ERA before getting traded to the Giants at the trade deadline of 2016.

Smith earned his first career All-Star game nod this year as the Giants closer, and is seen as the hottest rental on the market for this year's July 31st trade deadline
