Can McDaniels fit as head coach with Packers, Rodgers?

January 04, 2019 - 9:22 pm

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst and team president Mark Murphy have a handful of interviews lined-up over the NFL's Wild Card Weekend. One of those will be with Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

McDaniels, 42, has built quite the NFL resume...though not necessarilly the best one. His work with the Patriots has helped create most of his success and respect around the league. However, his failed stint as the Broncos' head man (which split his tenure in New England) cast doubt on his ability to coach out of the Belichick-Brady shadow. Not to mention, his loyalty came to question last off-season when he accepted (and then backed out of) the Colts' head coaching job.

So, can a guy like Josh McDaniels work as the next head coach of an organization like the Green Bay Packers and with a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers? Read more here.

Ryan Hannable, who covers the Patriots for WEEI Sports Radio in Boston, discussed the potential fit of McDaniels with the Packers (as well as the potential fit of Pats' defensive coordinator Brian Flores) on The Wendy's Big Show. LISTEN BELOW
