Giannis ascending, can he catch LeBron?

March 18, 2019 - 4:33 pm

Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has taken the NBA by storm this season. He's averaging 27.5 points, 12.7 rebounds and 6 assists -- the only 25/10/5 player in the NBA this season -- with a .580 field goal percentage for good measure (10th best in the NBA) and the leading role on the NBA's winningest team. Add it all up, and it's hard to argue against Antetokounmpo as the NBA's next leading man.

To be the next leading man, though, the current guy has to lose his throne - LeBron James.

James "struggling" season still boasts a 27.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8 assists per-game averages, but is marred by a sub-.500 Los Angeles Lakers team all but guaranteed to miss the playoffs. If the throne was ever vulnerable since King James took it over, it's now.

So, can the Greek Freak take the reins from King James? If he can, how close is he? The FAN's insider Matt Velazquez states the case at JSOnline.com.
