GREEN BAY, Wis. -- A 2016 fifth-round pick, Trevor Davis is a Packer no more. The team traded the return specialist/wide receiver to the Raiders, Wednesday.

Heralded for his punt and kick return skills, Davis averaged 22.6 yards per kick return and 11.2 yards per return during his time with the Packers. In 31 career games, including two this season, Davis scored just one touchdown -- a receiving touchdown during his rookie season.

The trade likely opens a role for Darrius Shepherd (a 2019 undrafted rookie return specialist and wide receiver) or Tremon Smith (a return specialist and defensive back who was claimed by the Packers on Sept. 17) on special teams.
