ST. LOUIS -- The Brewers' deficit in the N.L. Central standings grew after a one-hit loss to the first-place Cardinals on Monday. Tuesday, the Crew enters a series-deciding Game 2 with broader postseason implications potentially in the balance.

Gio Gonzalez is coming off a clunker against the Twins but has been reliable (when healthy) for the majority of the season. He hasn't been credited with a win since May, but the Brewers have won five of six his six starts since then. Both Gonzalez and the Brewers will look for their next "W" at Busch Stadium
