Chicago, IL - The Chicago Bears could be the site of the NFL's kickoff to the 2019 season. And who better else to play than their oldest rival, the Green Bay Packers?

A report in the Sports Business Journal says since the league is celebrating their 100th anniversary, Commissioner Roger Goodell is considering Soldier Field as the site to recognize two of the sports' oldest franchises, the Bears and Packers on Thursday night, September 5th. It means the Patriots would not host the kickoff game, the first time the league would not have the Super Bowl winner involved in the season opener since 2006.

The report also says the Bears could be featured on Thanksgiving again in Detroit against the Lions.

The Packers have worn a patch that says "100" to celebrate the team's 100th season in operation, dating back to 1919.
