Green Bay, WI - It is possible the Packers may play a game outside of the United States this year.

Green Bay is scheduled to face the Raiders on the road during Week 3 of the NFL preseason. It is supposed to be a home game for the Raiders, but the Raiders don't seem to have a place to play that night.

Packers CEO/President Mark Murphy reiterated on Thursday during an interview with a Milwaukee radio station that the league is working on arranging the game to be played in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Friday night, August 23, at Investors Group Field, home to the CFL's Blue Bombers.

Investors Group Field is the seventh-largest stadium in Canada, with a seating capacity of 33,134. There is a note on their website the stadium is expandable to 40,000.

There was a report earlier this year there was a conflict with a soccer game scheduled there the night before, but that officials were trying to work things out with the NFL. CLICK HERE FOR MORE

Winnipeg is located just north of the Minnesota and North Dakota borders.

It's a 3-1/2 hour flight from Milwaukee's Mitchell Airport, and an 11-12 hour drive from Milwaukee.

Although the Raiders, who are moving to Las Vegas in 2020 (or 2021), have an agreement in place to play at the Oakland Coliseum, there is a conflict as the Oakland's A's baseball team is scheduled for a home stand that weekend.

Murphy said if the NFL can not work out an arrangement in Winnipeg, the preseason game would be played at Lambeau Field, meaning Green Bay would host three of their four preseason games.
