Packers sign Evans to $2.2 mil. deal

Green Bay, WI - The Packers signed former Saints right guard Jahri Evans to a 1-year deal worth $2.25 million. The base salary is $1.15 million, with a roster bonus that could total $800,000. However, if the Packers cut the 33-year-old lineman at the end of training camp, they'll only owe him around $200,000. Evans was released by the Saints at the end of 2015 when his weight reached 330 lbs. At one time Evans was the highest paid offensive lineman in the National Football League after being a part of the Saints 2009 winning Super Bowl team. Last August he was with the Seahawks but was cut at the end of training camp. The Saints brought him back on a 1-year deal, and at 315 lbs. Evans had a better performance. READ MORE
