The run of majors that we have had here in the state of Wisconsin is getting close to expiring.. Its been a great run, starting with the 1999 US Women’s Open at Blackwolf Run,continuing thru numerous PGA Championships at Whistling Straits and ending in 2020 with the Ryder Cup.

And who knows when the USGA’s US Open will ever return.

Kohler CEO Herb Kohler, the biggest advocate of golf in the state, was strongly responsible for most of these majors.  At 78,  im hoping Herb’s passion for golf is continued by someone in his company, pulling to keep feeding majors into our state..

Wisconsin is a fantastic state for golf even though the season here is short. We also have a reputation for doing a great job showcasing and supporting these events..

In the next few years, efforts need to happen, to continue bring these great tournaments to our state before someone else steps up…
