Bill Michaels

Weekdays 10:00am - 2:00pm

As a kid, Bill grew up watching the “Big Red Machine” of the Cincinnati Reds. He still remembers running out on to his front porch ringing a cow bell when the Reds beat the Red Sox in the 1975 World series.

Bill’s very first sports talk show, it was his thrill to have Pete Rose, Johnny Bench and Sparky Anderson as his guests.Another memorable moment in Bill’s life, while he was an intern at WCPO Channel 9, he had the intimidating experience of covering Bob Huggins and Bobby Knight’s pressers after the Hoosiers knocked off the Cincinnati Bearcats.

One other incredible broadcasting experience came when Bill had the chance to fulfill his lifelong dream of calling Major League Baseball game. Bill’s idols growing up were Al Michaels, Marty Breneman and Joe Nuxhall (All Reds Broadcaster). While Bob Uecker was being inducted into Baseball’s Hall of Fame, Bill filled Ueck’s seat in the broadcast booth as the Milwaukee Brewers took on the Colorado Rockies in Denver. Bill teamed up with Wayne Larrivee for the series. Since then (2003), Bill has honed his play by play skills, calling numerous games, over the last 8 Brewers seasons. Some day, Bill would like to return to the play-by-play booth.
